ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Harmony House, Children’s Advocacy Center, is holding its annual autumn fundraiser the Monster Mash Bash on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the J.B. Martin Rec Center in St. Clairsville.

The annual “adult Halloween party,” is a chance for the 21-and-over community to support a great cause and celebrate the haunting season. The event runs from 7-10 p.m.

The “Mash” includes catered food from the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, beer and soft drinks, desserts by BabyCakes, photo booth fun from Selfie Snaps, music from R&B Music Factory, and ax throwing from Route 40 Lumberjaxe.

Additionally there will be a 50/50 raffle, basket drawings and contests for best costume, best couple, most gruesome, most extreme and worst costume.

The recreation center is located in downtown St. Clairsville at 102 Fair St., adjacent to Red Devil Stadium and the old fair grounds.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling 740-695-0812 or online at https://go.rallyup.com/hhmmb23.

“Autumn is my favorite time of year, and our Halloween event is also my favorite,” Jay Jack, administrative manager of Harmony House, said. “We are excited to spend the evening with the people who work with us every day, our friends, our families and community supporters.”

The 2023 event sponsors include Bordas and Bordas, Belmont Savings Bank, E-Z-Mini Storage, Gold, Khourey, & Turak, Gulfport Energy, Kalkreuth Roofing, Kimble Recycling, Katie Knox Counseling and Pepsi Cola Bottlers, Inc.

Harmony House, Children’s Advocacy Center, is a comprehensive, child-focused program that allows prosecutors, law enforcement, child protective service workers, medical and mental health professionals and victim advocates to work together to strengthen the community’s response to child abuse.

It serves Belmont County in Ohio, and Marshall and Ohio counties in West Virginia. All services are free of charge.

“Abuse results in trauma that can upset the balance of a child’s world,” Jack said. “Every child is special, and they need to know this, rather than feel invalidated, rejected or judged.”
