Kennywood Extends Holiday Lights Celebration

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — By popular demand and with slightly warming temperatures forecast in the coming days, Kennywood is extending its Holiday Lights celebration for a second weekend in a row.
The park will now be open from from 3-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23. This weekend is also the last days for the all-new Santa experience in Thomas Town. Guests can take advantage of the extra hours and visit Jolly Old St. Nick before he boards his sleigh ahead of Christmas.
Saturday will be the last day to join Santa, Mrs. Claus and their friends for this magical, immersive can’t-miss holiday experience of Dinner with Santa. These very special dinners feature a delicious, all-you-can-eat Christmas buffet dinner with Jolly Old Saint Nick. The add-on includes a photo with Santa and kids’ holiday cup.
Dinner with Santa will take place at 3:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Guests can purchase tickets and select a time during checkout online.
Kids ages 10 and under can explore the park with an all-new interactive holiday scavenger hunt on Saturday, and during Holiday Lights, guests can explore special holiday attractions like the massive model train display.
Voted as a top 10 Best Theme Park Holiday Event in the country by USA Today’s 10 Best, Holiday Lights continues making spirits bright, featuring more than two million twinkling lights and much more, along with 20 rides, including Spinvasion – up for a “USA 10 Best New Theme Park Attraction” award; seasonal culinary delights; special festive entertainment; and the tallest Christmas tree in Pennsylvania standing at 100 feet tall. There is a nightly tree-lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. around the lagoon.

Kennywood’s Holiday Lights will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Then the park will be open daily from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 to close out the year.
There is no better way to spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s than at Kennywood for Holiday Lights – and now there is even more time to enjoy Pittsburgh’s Home for the Holidays with extended hours. The park’s operating hours for the final week of the year will be 1-9 p.m. from Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 28, and then 3-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29 through Monday, Jan. 1.
Holiday Lights Speedy Passes are also available. All rides are weather permitting. Cranky’s Drop Tower, Jack Rabbit and Spinvasion will operate on nights temperatures remain above 40 degrees.
Guests can frolic and feast at the New Year’s Bash and Buffet from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, through Sunday, Dec. 31. The palatable party features a DJ and includes an assortment of appetizers and delectable dishes, such as shrimp skewers, bratwursts, pierogies and much more.
Kennywood’s Winter Weather Guarantee has all visits covered. If any visit is impacted by rain, snow, ice or extremely cold temperatures, the park will offer a free ticket to return to Kennywood on another day.
