WHEELING — Oglebay is setting the stage for summer’s most festive weekend with its annual Salute to Patriotism, presented by Community Bank.

This Thursday through Sunday, July 3-6, the community is invited to enjoy four days of live music, family fun, food and breathtaking fireworks.

“As we celebrate the Fourth of July, let’s join to celebrate the values of freedom, independence and unity that our nation was built upon,” said Community Bank Regional President Jon Greer. “At Community Bank, we are proud to support our community and the American spirit.”

The celebration begins with an afternoon of lakeside energy on Thursday, July 3. DJ Daner brings the beats as kids bounce through the inflatable fun zone and families enjoy classic cookout fare. Later, guests can jump into the popular foam party before dancing to live music by Pyramid Incident. The evening ends with a crowd-favorite: a dazzling fireworks extravaganza over Schenk Lake, generously presented by the Schenk Charitable Trust.

“This is one of our favorite weekends at Oglebay — a time when families come together to celebrate summer, freedom and community,” said Wheeling Park Commission President and CEO Bob Peckenpaugh.

“We’re grateful to Community Bank, the Schenk Charitable Trust and all our partners who help make this unforgettable weekend possible.”

Throughout the weekend, Oglebay will be alive with activity — from family games and inflatables to evening performances that bring the entire community together.

On Saturday, July 5, the Crispin Center pool transforms into the ultimate party spot with poolside games, belly flop contests, and specialty cocktails. That evening, guests can enjoy a unique experience at Red, White & Zoo: Brews & Bites at the Good Zoo. This after-hours zoo adventure from 5-7 p.m. features local craft beer, delicious bites, animal encounters, a scenic train ride and live music. Admission is $40 for adults and $25 for children and non-alcohol guests.

The weekend winds down with the Sunday Funday Concert Series presented by the Elizabeth Stifel Kline Foundation and Expand at Oglebay’s amphitheater, featuring a Van Morrison Tribute Band and a lively evening of food, sweet treats and family-friendly fun.

Guests are encouraged to purchase an activity wristband for unlimited access to mini golf, pedal boating, the aerial challenge course, rock climbing, swimming and the Good Zoo — making it easy to enjoy everything the park has to offer all weekend long.

Celebrate summer. Celebrate freedom. Join the community at Oglebay’s Salute to Patriotism — a weekend full of heart, heritage and hometown spirit.
