Fermentation Workshop with Ruth of Soul + Soil – 1-3 p.m. at Public Market, 1401 Main St. in Wheeling. Join Public Market for a hands-on fermentation workshop guided by Ruth from Soul + Soil. Learn the art of traditional kraut-making while crafting your very own quart jar of organic sauerkraut to take home. Throughout the session, we’ll explore the vital role fermented foods play in gut health, ensuring you walk away with both the knowledge and the tools–including a fermentation weight–to continue your journey at home. Bluegrass Jam – 6-9 p.m. at Quaker Steak and Lube at The Highlands. Every Monday evening, except for the Major Holiday Mondays, Quaker Steak and Lube at the Highlands hosts a weekly acoustic bluegrass music jam. The jam is free and open to the public. Folks are welcome to attend either as a musical participant or just come and enjoy dinner while you listen. Also from 5-6 p.m., more experienced musicians will be available to provide free instruction on any of the standard bluegrass instruments and vocal skills to enable you to get started in bluegrass music or enhance an existing skill level.

Unleash your creativity as you explore the world of watercolor painting in this beginner-friendly watercolor course. Designed for those new to the medium, this course will guide you through essential techniques, from brushstrokes and color mixing to brush control. All supplies and materials provided. This class is for participants 18 years and older.
Wheeling Symphony Orchestra: Penelope – 7 p.m. at Towngate Theatre, 2118 Market St. in Wheeling. The WSO is pleased to announce this special companion performance to our Masterworks concert, Her Voice. Featuring guest artist Shara Nova alongside a small WSO ensemble, Penelope is a retelling of the Odyssey from Penelope’s perspective.

Community Catalysts: Women Driving Change – 11:30 a.m. at the Capitol Theatre Ballroom, 1015 Main Street in Wheeling. This event features a dynamic discussion with women leaders whose innovation and service are making a meaningful impact across our community. We’ll tackle a variety of topics related to the issues women face in leadership roles or working their way into them. While the event highlights the experiences of women leaders, we welcome attendees of all genders and career levels to join the conversation. Meaningful progress happens when we listen, learn, and work together through open dialogue that extends beyond any one perspective.
