Easterseals next Sensory-Friendly Sunday Matinee features Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets”! The tail-wagging animated adventure is at Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre and Cinema in Wheeling’s Centre Market area on Sunday, March 22. The event is free; donations to Easterseals accepted. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Movie starts at 2 p.m. No previews or trailers. Sensory-friendly features include lights up, sound down, free to move around, bring your own food and drinks. Bluegrass Jam – 6-9 p.m. at Quaker Steak and Lube at The Highlands. Every Monday evening, except for the Major Holiday Mondays, Quaker Steak and Lube at the Highlands hosts a weekly acoustic bluegrass music jam. The jam is free and open to the public. Folks are welcome to attend either as a musical participant or just come and enjoy dinner while you listen. Also from 5-6 p.m., more experienced musicians will be available to provide free instruction on any of the standard bluegrass instruments and vocal skills to enable you to get started in bluegrass music or enhance an existing skill level.
