Marshall County Libraries Celebrate National Library Week
MOUNDSVILLE – This year’s National Library Week is April 19-25, and the Marshall County Public Libraries are celebrating with several special activities. The theme, established by the American Library Association, is “Find Your Joy.”
The following special events are scheduled for National Library Week at the Moundsville Public Library:
Monday, April 20, 4:30 p.m. – Teen Study Group Homework help with Mrs. Mentzer; 5:30 p.m. – Book Club for Adults with Mickey Massey.
Tuesday, April 21, 10:30 a.m. – Gentle Yoga with Diane; 6 p.m. – Film Showing: “Hamnet” (2025) Historical drama set in Shakespeare’s world, Rated PG-13, 126 minutes.
Wednesday, April 22, 4 p.m. – Film Showing: “Zootopia 2” (2025), animated-adventure, family film full of laughs, Rated PG, 108 minutes.
Thursday, April 23, 11 a.m. – Story Time for Preschoolers; noon – Unheard-of-History Story “When Sisters Were Soldiers” performed by storyteller Judi Tarowsky.
Friday, April 24, 10:30 a.m. – Gentle Yoga with Diane.
The Benwood-McMechen Public Library will have a story time plus craft, for children aged preschool to first grade, at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 20. Plus there will be a family movie on at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
The Cameron Public Library will have a preschool story time on 1 p.m. Monday, April 20. Area residents are encouraged to watch for additional special events later in the week.
All the Marshall County Libraries have numerous “regular” activities scheduled during the month, including movie showings, pre-school story times, reading challenges and book club gatherings. Call for details.
All events are free and open to the public. The Moundsville Library is located at 700-Fifth St. (at the corner of Fifth Street and Tomlinson Avenue) in Moundsville.
