First Communion, Wedding Veil Heirloom
Photo Provided Phyllis and Bill Ripley of Wheeling were married for 51 years before his passing in 2023. Their love and legacy continue through a cherished family tradition centered around Phyllis’ wedding veil. The veil has been worn by each of their six granddaughters for their First Holy Communion celebrations. Shown with their grandmother Phyllis are Elizabeth, 21; Sarah, 19; Emerson, 16; Hannah, 15; Catherine, 10; and most recently, Clare, 8, who became the final granddaughter to wear the treasured heirloom. What began as a wedding accessory has become a meaningful symbol of faith, family and generations of love and a reflection of the strong foundation Phyllis and Bill built together and continue to guide their family today.
