Public Garden Lecture Set for Monday Night
WHEELING – This summer and fall, a personal garden has the chance to produce wonderful fruits and vegetables, and nothing tastes as good as homegrown produce.
Those interested in enjoying the bounty and taste of their own produce next winter and spring are encouraged to join the discussion at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at the Schrader Environmental Education Center at Oglebay Park for this month’s Public Garden Lecture.
Earl Nicodemus, a local master gardener, will share the methods he and his wife, Betty, have used over the last 49 years to preserve the bounty of the large vegetable garden they maintain at their home, where they continue the traditions learned growing up on their family farms in Ohio.
The Public Garden Lecture series is presented by the Ohio County Master Gardeners, a volunteer organization dedicated to making our community healthier and more beautiful.
The program is free and open to the public. For those able to contribute, a $5 donation is requested.
