ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
LIVE MUSIC: COMPANY CARAVAN — Company Caravan will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Silver Rail Bar & Grill in Wheeling.
SATURDAYS AT THE MARKET — Centre Market will host live lunchtime music from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the courtyard between the market houses. Robert “The Troubadour” Gaudio will perform during the free event.
WHEELING FILM NOIR FEST — The Wheeling Film Noir Fest will be held Saturday and Sunday at the historic former Kaufman’s building in downtown Wheeling. The festival will feature screenings of classic noir films along with guest speakers and presentations. Individual screenings are $12.
FIREWORKS SHOW — Oglebay Park Resort will host a fireworks display at dusk Sunday as part of its Memorial Day weekend activities.
SPORTS & FITNESS
WV MINERS — The West Virginia Miners will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at WesBanco Arena. Tickets are available through the WesBanco Arena box office and at gowvminers.com.
OGDEN HALF MARATHON CLASSIC — The 48th annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Run will begin at 7:15 a.m. Saturday in downtown Wheeling, followed by the Half Marathon Walk at 7:20 a.m. Participants will receive race amenities, with medals awarded to finishers.
5K RUN AND WALK — The Ogden Wellness Weekend 5K Run and 5K Walk presented by WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital will begin Saturday in downtown Wheeling. The run starts at 7:25 a.m. and the walk begins at 7:30 a.m. All participants will receive race medals.
WHEELING HERITAGE TRAIL BICYCLE TOUR — The 19th annual Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour will begin Sunday at Heritage Port in Wheeling. Ride options include 100K, 50K and 15K courses beginning between 7:30-9 a.m.
TOUGH AS NAILS URBAN CHALLENGE — The Tough As Nails Urban Challenge will be held Sunday in Wheeling as part of Ogden Wellness Weekend activities.
FAMILY
FAMILY STORY TIME — Ohio County Public Library will host Family Story Time at 11 a.m. Saturday in the children’s area of the library. The free 30-minute program includes stories, songs and crafts for children and families.
OGDEN FUN RUN — The Ogden Fun Run presented by WVU Medicine Children’s will begin at 8:15 a.m. Saturday in downtown Wheeling. The noncompetitive event is open to children 12 and younger.
TINY TOT TROT — The Tiny Tot Trot presented by WVU Medicine Children’s will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Port in Wheeling. Children ages 5 and younger can participate in the race event, with all entrants receiving a finish ribbon.
COMMUNITY
SMART CENTRE MARKET — SMART Centre Market will host a free public market from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at 1410 Main St., Wheeling. The weekly event is open to all ages and continues through Dec. 26.
MOON RIVER STARWATCH — Amateur astronomers will host Moon River StarWatch from 8-10 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Port along the Wheeling walking trail near the Walter Reuther statue. Telescopes will be available for viewing the moon, planets and deep-space objects. The free event is held the fourth Saturday of each month.
PLANT BUDDY WORKSHOP — Bev West of B. Woven will lead a Plant Buddy Workshop at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wheeling Artisan Center Atrium. Participants will create polymer clay plant decorations. Registration is limited.
ROVERS ON THE RIVER — Rovers on the River, a pet-friendly wellness walk presented by Play N Stay Pet Camp as part of Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend, will begin at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Port. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY — American Legion Post 1 will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday at the post on Sycamore Avenue in Wheeling.
