Miriam Chapter of Order of the Easter Star Installs Officers
WHEELING – Patricia L. (Patty) Vermillion and W. James (Jim) Shannon will be installed as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron of Miriam Chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star, on Tuesday, June 16, at the Shrine Center, Monument Place, Elm Grove, following the regular chapter meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Vermillion is retired from Wheeling Hospital and First Choice America Federal Credit Union, and is a member of the Newbridge Church. She is a Past Matron of Miriam Chapter, Past Grand Representative of North Carolina in West Virginia, and Past Grand Chaplain of West Virginia. She has two children Kirk Vermillion (Lynette) and Kristi Briggs (Michael) and three grandchildren, Bryn and Shelby Vermillion and Maddie Briggs.
Mr. Shannon is a retired Marshall County teacher, and a member of the Point Pleasant United Methodist Church. He is a Past Patron of Miriam Chapter and Past Worthy Grand Patron of West Virginia. He is presently serving as Grand Representative of Nova Scotia in West Virginia. He has two children Bill Shannon (Kelly) and Suzanne Carpenter (Ken), and one grandson, Jacob Carpenter.
The Installing Officers will be Sandy Dumire, Charlene Brown, Roger Gregg, Jane Mullen, Linda Geiler and Ruth Ann Shingleton.
Officers to be installed with Vermillion and Shannon include Mary Frohme, Johnny Bitzer Jr., Virginia Sapp, Karen Muldrew, Nola Cronin, Alice Means, Carrie Cronin, Jennifer Vickers, Kristi Briggs, Teresa Holman, Sue Ellen Krober, Barbara Vickers and Barbara Baker.
A reception will follow the Installation.
