MOUNDSVILLE - The Strand Theatre announced auditions for "Love, Loss and What I Wore."
This evocative and moving play features monologues and ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memory. Based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman and written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, the show covers important subjects - mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses and why we only wear black.
"Love, Loss and What I Wore" will be presented at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17, and at 2 p.m. Oct. 18. Sadie Varlas will direct.
Auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Strand. Auditions will consist of reading monologues from the play. While it is encouraged to review the monologues prior to the audition, they do not need to be memorized. Video submissions are also accepted.
Individual monologue rehearsals will be scheduled one to two times per week from Sept. 7 to Sept. 25, with full cast rehearsals taking place from Sept. 28 to Oct. 17.
