Scholarship Winner Mason Stoll to Perform at Thursday Music Club

BETHLEHEM - The Thursday Music Club will hold its next meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Char House on the Boulevard in Bethlehem.

Entertainment for the meeting will be provided by Mason Stoll, winner of the Gretchen McKee Scholarship at West Liberty University.

Stoll is a senior music education major at West Liberty University. Since 2023, he has studied voice with Dr. Linda Cowan. In 2025, Stoll was a semi-finalist in the Upper-Division Musical Theatre Category for the tristate chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). The following year, he traveled to receive second place in the category at the Eastern Region conference.

Stoll studied bass and guitar under professor Aaron Carey and translated those skills into his local jazz and blues band Sons of the Valley. Currently, he is completing his student teaching at Indian Creek Local school district where he teaches high school choir and elementary school.

He is looking forward to playing guitar for the lovely members of the Thursday Music Club on Oct. 1.

Reservations for the luncheon, which costs $20, should be made by Sunday, Sept. 27, by calling Sandy Smith at 304-242-1628. Annual membership in the Thursday Music Club is $20 and open to anyone interested.

The Thursday Music Club chorus, under the direction of Anita Chops with accompanist Debbie Breiding, rehearses every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at Elm Grove United Methodist Church. Those interested in joining the club or chorus may contact Chops at 304-551-1414.
