Fort Henry Chapter Inducts New Members, Installs Officers

WHEELING - At its fall meeting on Sept. 26, the Fort Henry Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, inducted three new members: William L. Brubaker of Wheeling, Robert T. Crow of Shadyside and Thomas L. Dorey of Paden City.

West Virginia Society president Mark A. LaFrance installed the 2026-28 officers: president Jay Frey, vice president John Hargleroad, and secretary Cory Barack, all of Wheeling; treasurer Taylor Abbott of Columbus; registrar-genealogist Charles Ramsey of Wellsburg; genealogist Kenneth Harvey, chancellor Erik Schramm Sr., and historian Luke Miller, all of Wheeling; and chaplain Rev. Joseph Andrews of Mt. Clare, W.Va.

SAR vice president general, Central District, Harold T. Cox, Jr. presented Frey with the Patriot Medal, the highest West Virginia Society award in recognition of "long, faithful and distinguished service."

The Sons of the American Revolution is a male lineage society whose members trace their heritage to the War for Independence. As an historical, educational, patriotic non-profit organization the SAR promotes patriotism, respect for national symbols and the value of American citizenship.
