WHEELING – The Newcomers Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, at Generations Restaurant, 338 National Road, Wheeling. The speaker will be Shawn Turak, the Ohio County prosecuting attorney. She will talk about one of her most interesting cases — a triple homicide that she prosecuted. WHEELING – Ormet Retirees Club Local 5724 will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at the old grade school on Ohio 536 in Hannibal. The meeting will be the club's summer picnic. Those with last names starting with A-H are asked to bring a covered dish, and members with last names starting with I-Z are asked to bring a desert. All Ormet retirees are welcome. MOUNDSVILLE – The Carriers will perform in concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Praise Park behind the Moundsville First Christian Church on the corner of Third Street and Grant Avenue. A love offering will be accepted for the group. Refreshments will be available. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the church.
