2 min read

Remember doo wop? Remember dancing cheek to cheek? Remember the nostalgic feelings you get when you hear those songs and what you were doing back in the good ole days?

Everyone will be getting those feeling back when doo wop comes back to St. Clairsville as One-A-Chord takes the stage from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the amphitheater at City’s Central Park Complex.

One-A-Chord a cappella quartet is an experienced vocal blend of musical talent from Barnesville specializing in doo wop songs and classic oldies. Members are Tyler McCort, lead; Terry McCort, high tenor; Tony Huntsman, baritone; and Brad Wilson, bass.

The group’s most recent CD is “Turning Back Time,” released in February 2007.

It is the quartet’s second album of 14 a cappella oldies and doo wop songs including the origional song “Turning Back Time.”

One-A-Chord’s first recording venture into the field of oldies and doo wop was a success. Their “Shades of the Past” CD was selected by Contemporary a Cappella Society of America as the Best a Capella Doo Wop Album of 2005.

The religious roots of the quartet are deep in the Church of Christ where a cappella singing is the standard. In October 2003 a well-received gospel CD of 10 a cappella songs, “One Lord, One Faith,” was released
