Homestyle Cooking Essential To Success of Hillbilly Snack Shack

TRIADELPHIA — It’s their delicious homestyle cooking that keeps customers returning for more at the Hillbilly Snack Shack in Triadelphia, according to owner Ed McDaniels.

“It’s just more of a family atmosphere … with good food,” said McDaniels. He said while the sliced sirloin tip steak sandwich with green peppers, onions, mushrooms and provolone cheese continues to be a menu favorite, he has decided to add pizza, strombolis and calzones to his already diverse menu.

Each of the new Italian selections can be ordered with a variety of toppings such as pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, green peppers or onions. McDaniels said the rest of the menu continues to remain the same.

He said he has changed his specials over the years, but because of popular demand he keeps going back to his original specials.

Hoagies, hamburgers, fish or pork barbecue are just a few of the many sandwiches offered. They also offer a variety of of salads including: the antipasta salad, taco salad, or a chicken or steak salad. Philly fries, pickle fries, cheese sticks, onion rings and jalapeno poppers are just a few of the mouthwatering side selections.

McDaniels said the Hillbilly Snack Shack continues to be a popular stop among the locals.

He said because of their location near Dallas Pike Road, they attract many employees from businesses at The Highlands for their lunch specials. He said he and his wife Tracy opened the original Snack Shack about five years ago, which was located about a 100 yards away from its new location at 6410 National Road, Triadelphia.

He said they decided to open the small eatery after he retired from the United States military in 2009.

Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
