Coven Presents ‘Bestiary’ At the Clientele Art Studio

2 min read

WHEELING -- Clientele Art Studio announces the return of Coven, a witch-themed art exhibit conceived by artists Natalie Kovacs, Alex Wright, Mindi Yarbrough and Cynthia Jimenez.

Opening night will have tarot readings by local business Card and Soul Tarot, music by Ananga Martin, poetry readings by Cindy Lewis and Sarah Clark, and mini pies from Midge's Kitchen.

The event will take place at Clientele Art Studio from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Sept. 17. Tickets are $5.

Coven got its start in the winter of 2018 when Kovacs got the idea to put on a witch-themed art show.

"Naturally I ran the idea by one of my best friends Alex first, and then we decided to ask Mindi and Cynthia if they would want to be a part of it (and of course they were very excited)," Kovacs said. "We all continue to put on these shows because we want others to have a safe space to celebrate pagan traditions, creativity and inclusivity. Plus, we all like each other a lot and work really well together!"

This year's theme is "Bestiary." By definition, a bestiary is a descriptive book featuring both real and mythical animals.

"We thought a show with this theme could produce a lot of cool art featuring cryptids, animals and folklore" said Coven's creator.

Clientele Art Studio is located at 43-15th St., Wheeling. Clientele Art Studio is open Fridays 5-10 p.m., Saturdays noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays noon to 6 p.m.
