City of Wheeling Kicks Off Slate of Free Summer Entertainment
WHEELING — The city of Wheeling has kicked off another season of free summer entertainment at venues across town.
Waterfront Wednesdays have already begun at Heritage Port and will continue will free live music beginning at 7 p.m. each Wednesday night. This coming Waterfront Wednesday performance on May 31 will feature Tom Breiding & the Union Railroad.
Toe Tappin’ Tuesdays at Warwood’s Garden Park will begin on May 30 featuring ’90s country band TumbleWeed. Toe Tappin’ Tuesdays, Too, at Wheeling Park will kick off on June 6 with Easy Street, a party rock dance band.
First Fridays will make a return to Centre Market this year beginning on July 7, featuring country, pop/rock and blues tunes from Taylor Jo and the Copper Creek Band. Wheeling’s Arts & Cultural Commission will once again host Third Fridays at the Plaza on Market with the first concert being with the Matt Hill Band on July 16.
All the free concerts begin at 7 p.m.
A variety of movies will be shown on the big screen in various locations within the city throughout the summer with a showing of D.C. League of Super Pets on tap for June 9 at the J.B. Chambers Turf Field.
