WHEELING — Nearly 20 Patriots are gearing up to take the stage this weekend at the JB Chambers Performing Arts Center for the fall play, “Almost, Maine.”

The play is set on a crystal clear, moonless night during the winter in the fictional town of “Almost.” During the performances, the audience will have a front row seat to see characters fall in and out of love in both unexpected, often hilarious ways.

“I just love this show. It enables 19 different kids to be a star for 20 minutes. It’s such a poignant look at love. It has so many special and wonderful moments,” explained the play’s director, Dr. Michael Romick.

The play is captured through nine unique vignettes that maintain a simplicity similar to what one would hear around a campfire. In this case, however, the audience gets to see the characters brought to life through the phenomenal acting of our Park Players.

Bri Zoeckler, Wheeling Park High School senior and assistant director explained, “It is so amazing to be involved and integrated in this process, from the first read through until now. Our cast is amazing, and there are a lot of freshmen involved. It’s so cool to see what our theater department will look like in the future.”

The show is scheduled for performances at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, with content geared towards middle and high school aged students and adults alike. Ohio County School students get in for free with show of ID, and tickets can be purchased at https://gofan.co/app/school/WV2642_1.

Starting at $2.99/week.
