Backyard BBQ Festival Fires Up Memorial Day Weekend

WHEELING – Oglebay Park Resort invites guests to kick off summer at the fifth annual Backyard BBQ Festival, returning this Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-24, with award-winning barbecue, live entertainment, family activities and festive fun across the park.

The Backyard BBQ Festival brings together pitmasters, smoky flavors, craft beverages and live music for a full weekend celebration. Memorial Day Weekend also marks the opening of Oglebay’s outdoor pool for the season, giving guests even more ways to relax, cool off and celebrate the start of summer with family and friends.

The weekend ends with a fireworks finale lighting up the sky at dusk on Sunday, May 24, celebrating Memorial Day Weekend and the start of Oglebay’s America 250 summer festivities. Throughout the season, guests can experience patriotic programming, community celebrations and all-American summer traditions across the park as Oglebay commemorates America’s 250th anniversary with a summer full of connection, celebration and fun.

Festival hours are 5-9 p.m. today, Friday, May 22; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 23; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 24.

The live music lineup for Friday includes New Age Adenas from 5-6:30 p.m. and Pyramid Incident from 7:30-9 p.m.

On Saturday, there will be music by Jason Treuman from noon to 1:30 p.m.; Tammy Jo & Iron Horse from 2-3:30 p.m.; Company Caravan from 4-6 p.m.; and The Clintones from 7-9 p.m.

Sunday’s musical lineup includes Two of Us from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; The Muddle from 1-2:30 p.m.; Gage Joseph from 3-4:30 p.m.; Tongue ‘N Cheek from 5-6:30 p.m.; and Fan Halen from 7-9 p.m.
