Christian Metalcore Comes to St. C. for First Time in Over 10 Years

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Christian metalcore is making its return to the city of St. Clairsville for the first time in over a decade.

South Carolina’s Cleansing of the Temple will be making a stop at the Kevin Barr Event Center, formally known as the Ruritan Building, located at 124 S. Sugar St., St. Clairsville.

They will be performing alongside local heavyweights, The Beauty in Silence, Lvnary and the long-awaited return of Skiba. The all-ages concert kicks off at 6 p.m. Admission is $15 in advance and $25 at the door.

Cleansing of the Temple is a five-piece metalcore act based out of Clemson, South Carolina. Formed in 2019, the band is committed to delivering a faith-centric message through aggressive music. Their lyrics often address themes such as spiritual warfare, redemption and critiques of religious hypocrisy. They are for fans of bands such as Impending Doom, Strangled, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Spite and The Acacia Strain.

Saturday will be the band’s first time in the Ohio Valley.

Making their return, after nearly a decade long hiatus Skiba is a five-piece metal band. Hailing from the Ohio Valley, the band isn’t defined by any specific genre. They have a thrashy groovy sound that appeals to fans of bands similar to Lamb of God and Pantera.

Lvnary is a three-piece, post-hardcore band from Morgantown. Pulling influences from math rock, prog and alternative rock, they create stories through the experimental music they share.

Last but not least, The Beauty in Silence will be performing their first show on Saturday.

The are a new and upcoming band located in the greater Ohio Valley area. They center around the indie punk genre and consist of bassist Austin Bailey, guitarist Joey Bain, vocalist Tyler Hores and drummer Charlie Wright.

In addition to bottles of water and cans of pop, Papa D’s will be selling pepperoni rolls, and Confectionery Canvas will be selling various sweet treats.
