WHEELING - Artworks Around Town is pleased to welcome the Ohio Valley Photography Club for the month of August.

The opening reception will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 7, in The Gallery. It is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Curators Janet Sheehan and Sandra Hadsell are making both the Studio and Student Galleries available for this exciting show.

There will be a tribute to the late Len Smith, who was a loyal and beloved member of Artworks for many years and an excellent photographer.

Anyone who is interested in photography is welcome to join the group. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you use, whether it be a smartphone, point-and shoot or professional one. Beginners as well as experienced photographers share ideas and inspiration. Members enjoy educational programs, guest speakers, photo critiques, hands-on demonstrations and group photography outings.

Photography is more than taking pictures.

Those who document life on film find beauty everywhere in their surroundings whether landscapes, people, flowers, birds or, anything that inspires them.

If you have a passion for photography or want to explore a new hobby, the club invites you to join them. For more information, visit their Facebook page or email them at ohiovalleyphotographyclub@gmail.com.
