WHEELING -- The Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce will host Halloween on the Plaza from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 30, on Market Plaza in downtown Wheeling.
The free trick-or-treat event will lead into the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra's performance of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre.
Local businesses will provide candy and treats, and chamber staff will serve butterbeer samples inspired by the show's theme. The event is also supported by CMS Bankcard Services.
"Halloween on the Plaza gives families a fun way to celebrate together while connecting with local businesses," said Jennifer Materkoski, president of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. "We're excited to partner with CMS Bankcard Services and the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra to bring a little Halloween magic to downtown Wheeling."
More than 15 organizations are scheduled to host tables, including Market Plaza businesses Two Times: Clothing & Collectibles and Unique Nails. Local businesses and organizations can register to participate until noon on Oct. 30.
There is no cost to participate, and chamber membership is not required.
