Emily Elizabeth Thomas and Michael Bernard Terlesky II were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 at Trucksville United Methodist Church, Trucksville, Pennsylvania.. The ceremony was presided by the Rev. Diane Ruth Gilbert, cousin of the bride’s mother. Special music and readings were presented by Craig Lee Thomas, brother of the bride. Organist was Vivian Jayne, confirmation mentor of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Lee and Cindy Fisher Thomas of Jackson Township. She is the granddaughter of the late Phyllis and Raymond Fisher of Dover, New Jersey, and the late Joan Riffinger of Easton, Pennsylvania.
The groom is the son of Michael and Mary Lou Terlesky of West Pittston, Pennsylvania. He is the grandson of Bernard and Doris Smith of West Pittston, Pennsylvania, and Bernard and Ruth Terlesky of Exeter, Pennsylvania.
The bride was presented for marriage by her father. She carried her maternal grandmother’s Bible in her bouquet. The bride’s mother carried the same Bible at her wedding. She chose her friend Geneva Bass as bridesmaid. Michael Zaleskas served as best man, and Eric Perlock as groomsman. Ushers were U.S. Navy Lt. Jeffrey Reilly, cousin of the bride, and U.S. Army SSG Jimmy Stone, brother-in-law of the groom.
A reception was held at the Irem Clubhouse, Dallas, Pennsylvania, hosted by parents of the bride. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Checkerboard Inn, Trucksville, Pennsylvania.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in Theatre in 2012 from Muhlenberg College. She spent a semester abroad in England at Goldsmiths, University of London. She currently works as a long-term disability claim manager for Cigna Group Operations.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Wyoming Area Secondary Center, and received a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2010 from Misericordia University. He is currently the promotions manager at WTOV-9.
The couple currently resides in Steubenville.
