A New QB on the Horizon? It should be noted that things are going well for Steelers QB Russell Wilson right now. Wilson began the season on the injured list, allowing Justin Fields to take over as the Pittsburgh Steelers QB. Despite winning, Fields struggled, ceding the way for Wilson.

Since returning, Wilson has played fine – 63% completion rate, 542 yards, three touchdowns to zero interceptions – but this is clearly not the Wilson of old. He’s doing the job now, but can he be the Steelers QB 2025 solution?

Why Dak Would Be a Good Fit in Pittsburgh. Though it may have made more sense during the summer, trading for Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott may be a long-term solution. Prescott just signed a four-year/$240 million deal worth $231 guaranteed. But at 30 years old, he could be the long-term solution the Steelers have been seeking.

Prescott, when he’s healthy and on his game, is one of the best QBs in the league. Coupled with a solid ground game and the vaunted Pittsburgh defense, and the Steelers could become one of the most formidable teams in a tough AFC.

The toughest part would be getting Dallas to eat some of that $60 million AAV. That’s a tough pill to swallow, even if the total length of the deal is just four years. Given that Prescott is 30 years old, he is still in his prime and should make all four of those years worth the cost.

A Game-Changer for Pittsburgh. The Steelers are already exceeding expectations, thanks in large part to their defense. They have just enough offensive talent to get the job done but it is clear that coaches want to take things to the next level. Given the strength of the Baltimore Ravens, it would be a positive move for the Steelers.

By adding a premier quarterback like Prescott, the Steelers could shore up a position that hasn’t been reliable since Ben Roethlisberger hung up his cleats. Coupled with WR George Pickens and RB Najee Harris, the Steelers would have the foundation for a strong offense in place for years to come.
