BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

On Monday, Buck A. Ward, 39, of 469 National Road, Wheeling, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear. No bond was set.

On Monday, a resident on Hope Chapel Road reported his neighbor caught a male kicking in his door. A deputy responded and took information. According to the report, nothing was missing.

At 3:42 p.m. Monday, Children Services was notified that a young child was left alone at the a trailer park in Shadyside. A deputy responded.

At 1:07 p.m. Monday, a person at a nursing home on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport reported a resident’s debit card was missing from her purse. A deputy was dispatched.

At 8:54 a.m. Monday, a person at Auto Boss, St. Clairsivlle, reported that two vehicles on his lot were damaged by a hit and run. A license plate was left at the scene. A deputy was dispatched.

At 9:35 p.m. Monday, a resident on Morningside Drive, St. Clairsvlle, reported a scam. The caller notified the IRS and FBI. An extra patrol was requested.

At 7:25 p.m. Monday, a resident on Zac Avenue, Fairpoint, came to the station to report a four wheeler was stolen. A deputy took information.

At 6:07 p.m. Monday, a resident on Mount Victory Road, Jacobsburg, reported a telephone scam. A person reportedly called claiming to be from the IRS. The sheriff’s department instructed the complainant not to give out any information to the caller and to ignore the calls.

SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

On Friday, Ronald D. Hickman, 21, of 56881 Upland Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested for possession of drugs. Bond of $2,500 was posted.

On Thursday, Larry J. Littleton, 26, of 67024 Morristown-Flushing Road, Belmont, was arrested for failure to appear. Bond of $1,000 was posted.

At 1:07 p.m. Thursday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Main Street, St. Clairsville. A deputy was granted consent to search, according to the report, which stated that drugs and drug paraphernalia were found. One unidentified male was taken into custody.

At 9:31 p.m Thursday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 470 east. One unidentified male had an active warrant for his arrest in Cuyahoga County. He was brought to the Belmont County Jail.

At 3:27 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a residence in Dilles Bottom, Shadyside, for an unruly juvenile complaint.

At 2:55 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an auto dealership on Industrial Drive, Bridgeport, for a report of a person allegedly threatening another individual’s life.

At 10:45 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to residence on West Central Avenue, Shadyside, where person reported a Proscan 40-inch television valued at approximately $500 and some medication were taken from their residence.

At 10:07 a.m. Thursday, a complainant reported a scam in which someone claimed to be from Publisher’s Clearing House and stated they had just won $3 million. In order to claim the prize, the complainant was told they needed to get several money cards ready to be picked up at their residence.

On Wednesday, Kaprice D. Russell, 28, of 49661 Little McMahon Creek, St. Clairsville, was arrested for failure to appear. Bond was set at $1,000.

On Wednesday, John M. Marx, 55, of 71501 Colerain Road, Bridgeport, was arrested for driving under suspension. Bond of $2,500 was posted.

On Wednesday, Michael A. Sankovitch, 38, of 214 Young Lane, St. Clairsville, was arrested on charges of intimidation of crime victim or witness and unlawful sex with minor/corruption of a minor. No bond was set.

On Wednesday, a person on Shrader Road, Beallsville, reported vandalism. According to the report, someone backed into post and someone cut barb wire on fence. A deputy responded and took information.

At 9:26 p.m. Wednesday, a caller on West Lake Road, Piedmdont, said wife’s purse was stolen at Salt Fork Lake. Requested extra patrol in case person who found or stole purse would come to house because they were going to go to various appointments and the appointment book, as well as extra keys to house and vehicles, were in the purse.

At 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to Bridgeport Schools, Industrial Drive, where a person called and reported the driver side window was broken out of their truck.

At 8:16 a.m. Wednesday, the manager of an apartment complex on Belmont Road, Bethesda reported finding a horse tail in front of a dumpster. A sergeant responded to the location, advised it was a cow’s tail and threw it in the dumpster, according to the report.

At 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a hotel on National Road, St. Clairsville, where cleaning crew found a loaded gun in a room. The gun was brought to front desk. A deputy responded and took possession of gun.

At 12:07 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to Indian Run, Bellaire, where caller said he was just robbed by male with a screwdriver and was beaten pretty bad. The suspect got a gold chain. He was described as bald and wearing camo jersey and jeans. Bridgeport Police responded with K-9 and Bellaire Police and sheriff’s deputies searched area for the suspect.

At 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, a male on Main Street, Morristown, reported a female just broke into house. A deputy responded and took the female to a residence in St. Clairsville.

At 9:24 p.m. Tuesday, resident on Provident Road, Richland Township, reported receiving threatening messages on Facebook. A deputy responded.

At 4:42 p.m. Tuesday, a resident on National Road, Bridgeport, reported a male was assaulted.

At 12:59 p.m. Tuesday, a caller on Main Street in Lloydsville reported her son stole her vehicle and threatened to harm himself. Deputies responded and checked several areas with no contact with the subject. Verizon was contacted to ping the subject. At 1:37 p.m., a deputy contacted the subject, and he and the deputy were to meet behind the mall. The vehicle was recovered and locked, and a deputy took the subject to his father’s house in West Virginia, according to the report.

At 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to Belmont-Morristown Road, Belmont, where there reportedly were problems with trucks illegally parking in lot causing people to fight. According to the report, there were no fights, the trucks were moved and the lot was cleared.

At 10:21 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were advised a black dog with New Horizon tags in the area of High Ridge Road was running loose. According to the report, representatives of the Belmont County Animal Shelter took the dog back to their facility.

At 10:43 p.m. Monday, a caller on Poplar Street, Lansing, reported a person known to her tried to hit her son who was riding his bike and then threatened her. A deputy spoke to the complainant.

At 8:12 p.m. Monday, a person on Presidential Estates, Bridgeport, reported receiving threatening text messages and phone calls.

At 10:39 p.m. Monday, officials received a complaint about a dog constantly barking at an address on Bend Fork Road, Washington Township. A deputy advised the dog warden has been notified and that this is an ongoing issue.

Reports

At 1:58 p.m. Monday, a complainant reported to dispatch that sometime overnight, someone entered two vehicles outside their home on Crescent Road, St. Clairsville.

At 11:50 a.m. Monday, a complainant requested a deputy after waking up to find a motorcycle tipped over and a wire cut on it, as well as a truck door standing open, at his residence on Cumberland Road, St. Clairsville. The incident was listed as a vandalism on the report.

At 12:31 p.m. Monday, a complainant on Crescent Road, St. Clairsville, reported sometime overnight, someone entered his truck and stole some change.

At 11:35 a.m. Monday, a resident from Crescent Road, St. Clairsville, reported someone entered two of their vehicles sometime overnight and stole approximately $30 from one of them.

At 10:28 a.m. Monday, a resident of Crestview Drive, St. Clairsville, reported three vehicles were entered sometime overnight.

At 10 a.m. Monday, a resident of Crescent Road, St. Clairsville, reported someone cut the soft top window from his Jeep and stole a pack of cigarettes and medication.

At 7:47 a.m. Monday, a resident of Crestview Drive, St. Clairsville, reported loose change was stolen from a vehicle sometime overnight.

At 1:56 p.m. Sunday, deputies at the fairgrounds reported they had two juveniles awaiting their parents to arrive at the sheriff’s trailer. The juveniles were released to their parents.

At 5:15 p.m. Sunday, two male were driving dirt bike on Main Street in Morristown. The parents were contacted and were advised to keep the bikes off the streets. The parents said they would take care of it.

At 1:12 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to call on Buckeye Street, Lafferty where person reported his house was broken into and the subjects fled in a blue Jeep.

On Sunday, Christopher Lemasters, 29, of 108 Mellot St., Powhatan Point, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bond set at $1,000.

On Sunday, Bryan N. McCorkle, 25, of 45 Gable Ave., Cameron, was arrested for theft. Bond set at $2,500.

On Sunday, Dayre J. McLaughlin, 20, of 44490 Lafferty Road, Flushing, was arrested for menacing, criminal trespassing, persistent disorderly conduct and prohibitions, persons under 21. Bond set at $1,750.

At 12:41 p.m. Saturday, manager at Lehman’s Landscape, Powhatan Point, advised there were several instances when an employee has been taking money from the business. A deputy responded. The caller said he has footage of the incidents. The deputy took information for a report.

At 7:06 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to Orchard Lane, Bridgeport, for a loud music complaint.

At 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Noble and 43rd streets, Bellaire. One unidentified male was brought to the Belmont County Jail.

At 2:36 p.m. Tuesday, a caller on Belmont Street, Neffs, reported a threatening incident. According to the report, Bellaire police brought the subject to jail on an unrelated warrant.

At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, a caller on Crescent Road, St. Clairsville, reported a scam. The caller reported receiving messages on their phone two days in a row from someone claiming they owed money to the IRS.

On Tuesday, Mark E. Hores II, 32, of 128 Bench St., Bridgeport, was arrested for contempt and failure to appear. No bond was set.

On Tuesday, Jerry D. David, 56, of 149 Overbaugh St., St. Clairsville, was arrested for open container, traffic light violation, DUI suspension, driving under the influence and failure to appear. No bond was set.

On Tuesday, Lindsay V. Barnes, 27, of 940 Markey St., Wheeling, was arrested for theft. Bond of $1,000 was posted.

At 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to OBGYN Services, St. Clairsville, where a person locked keys in a car, and there was a child in the car. Deputies gained entry, and Cumberland Trail emergency medical personnel responded to check the child.

At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, a person on Third Street, St. Clairsville, reported that sometime overnight a muffler system was stolen off a vehicle parked in front of the house. A deputy responded. The caller requested extra patrols in the area.

At 8:43 a.m. Wednesday, a person said he went to Epworth Park, Bethesda, to look for baseball glove. While he was gone, someone entered his vehicle and stole his softball gear and medications. A deputy responded.

On Wednesday, William Bowen IV, 23, of 10 Township Road 1098, Dillonvale, was arrested on probation violation.

On Wednesday, Jeremy Filler, 51, of 1521 Township Road 162, Mingo Junction, was arrested for DUI. Bond of $10,000 was posted.

On Wednesday, Joshua R. Thompson, 27, of 53810 Fulton Road, Colerain, was arrested for driving under suspension. Bond of $5,000 was posted.

On Tuesday, loss prevention at Wal-Mart reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill, and they had the transaction on camera.

At 4:08 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Bellaire-Centerville Road, where a 15-year-old boy was bitten by a dog. A representative from the animal shelter was notified.

At 3:24 p.m. Monday, a resident on Patty Mine Road, Martins Ferry, reported a house was broken into. A deputy responded.

At 11:21 a.m. Monday, a person at Gabriel Brothers, St. Clairsville, reported a $100 counterfeit bill was used for purchases at their store on Sunday. A deputy responded for information.

At 9:11 a.m. Monday, a caller from Evensong Road, St. Clairsville, reported an Oldsmobile or Buick, light tan in color, had been driven around the neighborhood in a suspicious manner with two white males inside. The caller requested extra patrols.

At 8:14 a.m. Monday, an complainant reported tools and other expensive equipment was stolen from a construction site on East Captina Highway, Powhatan Point. A deputy responded to take information for a report.
