Bellaire Races for Mayor, Council and School Board Top Belmont County

Races for mayor, village council and school board in Bellaire top Belmont County’s ballot for the Nov. 7 general election.

Bellaire Mayor Vincent DiFabrizio is being challenged by Martha Tedeschi and Councilman Dan Brown.

Brown’s seat on council is not up for election this year, but Bellaire voters will be selecting four members to council. The list of candidates includes incumbents Nikki Liberatore and Donny Maupin, as well Gay Lucci, Cathy Caretti, Daniel C. Scott and Grant Eugene Williams.

And three members of the Bellaire Board of Education will be elected on Nov. 7. Three incumbents – Charles Jason Ayers, John F. LaRoche and Mike Wallace — are seeking re-election, and Mike Dossie and Jim Thoburn also have filed in the race.

Other races in the county have attracted a large number of candidates.

There are 10 candidates for six at-large seats on Shadyside Village Council on the ballot. Voters will choose from among incumbents Bob Bell, Tim Merryman and Gary Rodgers, and challengers Sammy Carpino, John Ferrelli, Robert C. Gorrell Sr., Carol L. Gray, Richard L. Loew Jr., Ronald R. Reger and Kevin L. Tomlinson.

Also in Shadyside, Mayor Robert Newhart is being challenged by Greg Patrick Givens.

Two trustee seats are up for election in Flushing Township, and there are six candidates in the race. Scott Roush has filed for re-election, and other candidates in the race are Bryan Clark, Kenneth J. Huff, Tillison E. Stewart, Rickey Withrow and write-in candidate John White.

A second trustee race in Richland Township also has six candidates seeking two seats. On the ballot are incumbent Rick Ferrell and challengers Gregory Clark, Charlie DeClemente, Roger Devore, Kathy Kaluger and Jay Stephens.

∫ Bethesda Council (Elect four): Brian James Bee, Jordan Castello, Paul M. Fitch, Carol Ann Merritt, Linda Reeves and Lance Richards.

∫ Morristown Council (Elect four): Lowell Akers, Arthur Henderson, Pamela R. McCort, Michael Mudrak, Gene Dewayne Petrey, John Rataiczak and Benjamin S. Sall.

∫ Goshen Township Trustee (Elect two): Doug Kemp, Jacob John Tacosik, and Richard A. Whiteley Jr.

∫ Kirkwood Township Trustee (Elect two): Kevin Arigoni, Donald G. Loucks, David Merritt and Ronald Franklin Temple.

∫ Mead Township Trustee (Elect two): David Wayne Mellott, Paul M. Merryman and Bryan Miller.

∫ Pease Township Trustee (Elect two): Michael C. Bianconi, James P. Delman and David A. Horne Jr.

∫ Union Township Trustee (Elect two): Justin Demarchi, Jim Drake, John Dudzik, Tony Kolanski and Jason L. Mayberry
