Two Moundsville women are behind bars after police discovered more than 2 pounds of marijuana and methamphetamine in a hotel room.

On Monday evening, the Ohio County Sheriff's Office was called to a hotel in Triadelphia regarding a possible domestic violence situation. Upon arrival, Deputy Kris Waechter and Lt. Doug Ernest entered a hotel room to ensure the safety of those involved, and observed smoking pipes, scales and small plastic bags on the floor, according to the complaint.

No one was discovered inside the hotel room, according to deputies. Officials reportedly left the hotel and obtained a search warrant during which they discovered 1.5 ounces of crystal methamphetamines and 2.5 pounds of marijuana.

The complainant of the initial call, Michelle Harvey, 40, of Moundsville returned to the space and told officials she was renting the room, according to reports. Harvey told officials she, "smokes meth, but has been on the road to recovery for a couple (of) months," according to the complaint.

Loretta Minor, 39, of Moundsville also was discovered at the scene according to officials. Both Harvey and Minor were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The Ohio Valley Drug Task Force was present during this investigation.

Both Minor and Harvey are being held at the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville on $10,000 bond each.
