Coastal residents in the path of Hurricane Dorian who need to evacuate their homes are being offered free, temporary lodging at Oglebay Park this week.
Herb Faulkenberry, vice president of sales and marketing at Olgebay, said they already have 11 families staying at the lodge.
Rooms will be based on availability through Friday, he said, but the offer could extend through the weekend if rooms are available, he said.
"If we have rooms available, we'll let them to stay," Faulkenberry said.
Evacuees are asked to call 877-436-1797 for more information on the rooms at Oglebay.
Meanwhile, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has made available discounted rates for hurricane evacuees at West Virginia State Parks. Evacuees will receive a 50 percent discount on all lodge rooms, cabins and campsites.
"West Virginia stands ready to welcome anyone who may be in need of shelter as a result of Hurricane Dorian," Justice said. "We're one of the most hospitable states in the country, and in a time when so many of our friends in nearby states are hurting, it's the least we can do to offer a comfortable place to stay at our great state parks."
West Virginia State Parks also are waiving all pet fees for those traveling with pets.

The discount is valid through Monday.
