National Alpaca Weekend to be Celebrated in Wellsburg with Family Fun

WELLSBURG - Families around the Ohio Valley are welcome to enjoy free food and activities alongside alpacas this weekend.
Trinity Farms Alpacas will hold its National Alpaca Weekend event from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1627 Washington Pike in Wellsburg.
“Every year we celebrate the community and their support of our small business,” Christine Rudland, owner of Trinity Farms, said in a press release. “National Alpaca Weekend gives us the opportunity to share our farm and shop with others.”
The farm, which opened in 2015, is home to over a dozen alpacas in varying colors and sizes as well as a shop offering alpaca products and other items.
The event will feature raffles, goodie bags, a “ninja warrior” course, a playground, a sand dig, crafts and special guests, according to Trinity Farms. Free food will also be offered, including hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn.
“Come join us for a day of food and fun all on us,” Rudland said. “Bring the kids but please leave the animals at home.”
The farm itself will also be open. People can play, feed and enjoy the alpacas, ducks, chickens, guinea hens, turkeys, fainting goats, peacocks and pheasants on site.
In addition, Trinity Farmsí shop offers CBD products, herbs and spices and homeopathic remedies. Rudland, a registered nurse and nurse master herbalist, offers education and consultations in topics such as iridology, herbs, essential oils and holistic nutrition.
A DJ will be present at the event from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, and a costumed Iron Man and Cinderella will appear from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
