Berry, Bippus, Chison and Foose Joins Glessner Group
WHEELING — Glessner, Wharton & Andrews Insurance, LLC, announced earlier this month that Berry, Bippus, Chison & Foose Insurance has joined GWA as part of The Glessner Group.
BBCF was formed in 1874, and acquired by Edward “Bud” Bippus in 1950. Ten years later, along with George W. Berry and Andrew Chison, consolidated their insurance agencies to form Berry, Bippus, Chison & Foose. In 1973 E.J. Joseph began working for BBC&F and four years later in 1977, Carl Bippus, the son of Bud Bippus, joined the agency. Carl and his father operated the agency until Bud’s death in 2008. Both Bippus and Joseph are still with the business today. They specialize in nonprofit and medical professional liability insurance, along with personal lines coverages (home, auto and umbrella insurance).
GWA, which was formed in August 2010, is the insurance branch of The Glessner Group. The agency is owned by Gary Glessner, Stephen Wharton and Brett Andrews. They have seen success in their nine years of operation acquiring two businesses, Don Wild & Goff Insurance in Shadyside, OH, and BBC&F. GWA is a complete and full-service property and casualty insurance agency with employees who specialize in both the personal lines of home, auto and life and the business lines of general liability, property, auto and worker’s compensation.
BBC&F will join GWA at their location in Elm Grove, 2084 National Road, Wheeling, at Glessner Professional Center beginning this month. They will continue to work with their current clients and offer the same services.
