Spurlin Retiring After 40 Years at Wheeling Hospital
WHEELING – After 40 years of service, Maryanne Spurlin is retiring from Wheeling Hospital, with Thanksgiving as her last day.
A reception will be held for Spurlin from 2-3 p.m. Nov. 26 in conference room D. Currently a switchboard operator, Spurlin provides patients, staff and visitors with daily announcements for Holy Mass, parking information and other helpful messages.
During her tenure at Wheeling Hospital, she has worked in a multiple departments including the business office, volunteer office and front desk.
While Spurlin will be missed by her colleagues, she won’t be going far — in January she will be back as a hospital volunteer.
