WINTERSVILLE -- Teddie C. Davis, 61, of New Bern, N.C., was killed in a tractor-trailer accident early Sunday morning on Ohio 151, between Hopedale and Jewett, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
Police said Davis was driving west on the road in a tractor-trailer hauling sand shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck went off the left side of the road, striking a guardrail and overturning, the patrol reported.
A trooper said Davis was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol or drug use is not suspected, the patrol reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
