People who haven’t seen the two special shows on display at Artworks Around Town in the Centre Markethouse’s upper building still have the rest of the month of September to view them.

The Associated Artists of Hancock and Brooke Counties present a varied and colorful show full of bold paintings and subtle photographs. Robert Schramm’s exceptional array of photographic images using vintage methods of developing cover the walls of the north gallery. The first photograph is by Dennis Jones of the AAHB and is titled, “Look Up Mark, Look” and the second is a print of the iconic bull’s head photographed by Robert Schramm.

Health department restrictions regarding the COVID-19 crisis still prohibit an opening reception, but visitors are welcome to browse these two shows for the entire month of September. All items presented are for sale and offer an opportunity to purchase one-of-a kind works of art.

Artworks Around Town is a non profit gallery dedicated to promoting area artists and providing community outreach activities. Some workshops are back in session. Call Artworks at 304-233-7540 for details.

The gallery is located in Wheeling’s historic Centre Market with hours from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday except Friday when closing is 6 p.m.
