WELLSBURG -- Brooke County Schools is planning to institute a four-day school week beginning Monday, Nov. 2, district officials announced last week.
Students will attend classes in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while Wednesdays will continue to a remote learning/cleaning day.
At this time, any family can change how their child attends school (face-to-face or virtual) by contacting the student's home school.
The Re-Entry Task Force, led by Stephanie Blundon, director of Student Services and Special Education, held a meeting where the committee voted on this decision Thursday. She then presented the information at the Board of Education meeting.
Brooke County Schools have been utilizing a hybrid model that split classes into two segments with in-class education for two days a week and remote learning for the other three days.
The county is currently in the green phase on the state's COVID-19 map, allowing for in-person classes.
