WHEELING - Ohio County Schools students are benefitting from a generous contribution from a local trust.

The Martha Parlin Trust recently provided the Ohio County Schools Special Education Department with a donation of more than $6,000.

The funding will be used to purchase 15 iPads and cases for the school system's special education classrooms and a Kapwing Pro Workspace package. The Kapwing package is a closed-captioning system to benefit students who are deaf or who have difficulty hearing.

Ohio County Schools Special Education Director Leah Stout thanked Martha Parlin Trust officer Anthony Habbit, who serves as a WesBanco senior vice president, for the contribution to the school system. She said the funding will greatly benefit the school system's special education department and the students it serves.

"The Parlin Trust has been so supportive of the Ohio County Schools and the school system's special education department for many years," Stout said. "This funding is important because it provides resources for students who truly need them. I am so appreciative of this great contribution to our schools and our children."

The Martha Parlin Trust is managed by WesBanco and Investment Services. It supports programs in Wheeling and Ohio County.
