MOUNDSVILLE — Republican Charlie Reynolds will serve alongside Democrat Lisa Zukoff in the House of Delegates 4th District.

Reynolds earned the most votes of any candidate, with Zukoff finishing second while another Democratic candidate, Christian Turak, finished third.

Reynolds took 7,888 votes, while Zukoff received 7,437, to Turak’s 6,725, according to unofficial totals Tuesday night.

Zukoff was first elected in 2018 alongside Joseph Canestraro, who did not seek re-election. Canestraro instead sought, and was elected to, the Marshall County Prosecutor position.

Prior to the election, Zukoff said she spent her first term making strong connections among her peers in the House, and learning the realities of how government functions.

“Thank you to the voters of the 4th District for returning me to the House of Delegates,” Zukoff posted on social media late Tuesday. “I appreciate your confidence and will continue to work hard for you in Charleston.”

Reynolds had previously said he would seek to get roads throughout Marshall County fixed, as they had been seriously worn down by the movement of heavy equipment, as well as expanding broadband Internet throughout the largely rural county.

Reynolds was not immediately able to be reached for comment late Tuesday evening. On social media, he stated simply, “We won!!!”
