Community Bank To Merge Offices, Close Bellaire and Wellsburg Locations
Two local Community Bank branches will be folded into nearby branches as part of a larger consolidation plan across the region.
Community Bank recently announced that the Bellaire office would merge with the location at 809 Lafayette Ave. in Moundsville. Meanwhile, the Wellsburg branch would be consolidated with the branch at 1701 Warwood Ave. in Wheeling.
The consolidations were given an estimated date of occurring by June 30 of this year. The announcement noted that this move was being undertaken “in response to the rapidly changing banking and financial services environment.”
“Moving forward, we are committed to building an even stronger community,” Community Bank President and CEO John Montgomery said in the announcement, “which is why, in the face of current economic conditions, we are being proactive to become a more agile, exceptional financial institution that is best positioned for long-term success.
“We expect the branch optimization initiatives will allow us to better serve our customers and contribute to continuing to fulfill our mission to operate as a profitable, independent community bank,” he added.
Other branch office consolidations across the region include:
∫ Monongahela, Pa., to be consolidated into Rostraver, Pa.
∫ Perryopolis, Pa. to be consolidated into Uniontown, Pa., and Rostraver, Pa.
∫ Pioneer, Pa., to be consolidated into Waynesburg, Pa.
∫ Southpointe, Pa., to be consolidated into McMurray, Pa.
