Local Business Owner Justin Seibert Appointed to Wheeling Park Commission

Local business owner Justin Seibert was appointed Wednesday by the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to a seat on the Wheeling Park Commission. Seibert, founder and president of Direct Online Marketing, will take the seat of Wilbur S. Jones Jr., whose term ends Feb. 28. At his exit, Jones will have served on the commission for more than 41 years.

“I appreciate the confidence that the Wheeling Area Chamber has shown in me and am honored by the opportunity,” Seibert said. “Our parks system of Wheeling Park and Oglebay Resort are the crown jewels of our community. I look forward to working to grow and manage this important asset.”

Hanapin Marketing has named Seibert among its top 25 most influential pay-per-click (PPC) advertising experts, working diligently to build a team of online professionals.

A graduate of both Vanderbilt and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Babson College, he serves on a variety of community-focused boards, including currently as president of West Virginia Northern Community College Foundation, and member of both the WV District Export Council and Oglebay Institute.

The commission consists of five citizens who serve without compensation. Members of the commission are appointed by either the Board of Directors of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce or by the City Manager and serve five-year terms with no limit on reappointments.

Seibert will join R. Gregory “Greg” McDermott, Sue Farnsworth, Joan Stamp and David H. McKinley on the commission.

“Justin Seibert has shown a commitment to Wheeling,” said Erikka Storch, President of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. “He has invested, created jobs and built a successful business. His business expertise and digital analytical skills will be an asset for the Park Commission.”

The Wheeling Park Commission, a West Virginia corporation, was created by an act of the West Virginia legislature on March 5, 1935, for the purpose of managing the parks of the city of Wheeling.
