Both Ohio and Marshall counties had quiet days Tuesday in terms of new COVID-19 cases reported.
The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department announced just one new COVID case in its Tuesday night update, while the Marshall County Health Department reported just one new confirmed positive and one new probable case.
That brought Ohio County's totals to 3,944 total cases and 75 related deaths since the pandemic began. The Marshall County Health Department is directing people to the Department of Health and Human Resources website for Marshall County's latest numbers.
The DHHR site reports 2,342 confirmed cases, 805 probable cases and 72 related deaths.
All four Northern Panhandle counties were green on the DHHR's Tuesday COVID-19 alert map. Hancock County had an infection rate of 5.45 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 1.48. Brooke County had an infection rate of 5.86 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 1.40.
Ohio County had an infection rate of 14.83 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 2.42. Marshall County had an infection rate of 13.10 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 2.66.
