While more people each day get vaccinated against COVID-19, the opportunities to get that shot remain available through the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department.
Residents over the next two weeks can head to multiple sites to get inoculated. Today and Friday, eligible and registered residents can head to the vaccine clinic at the Highlands either by appointment or by walk-in from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
On Thursday, the Ohio County DHHR office is holding a walk-in clinic from 9-11 a.m. and the Health Department office is holding a walk-in clinic from 1-3 p.m.
Residents' next chances will be at the Highlands June 1 and June 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and at the Health Department June 2 and June 4 from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department reported one new positive COVID-19 case in its Tuesday night update, bringing that county's totals to 4,448 cases and 90 related deaths since the pandemic began.
The Marshall County Health Department reported two new confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in its Tuesday update. The department is sending people to the DHHR website for its latest totals, which were 2,543 confirmed positive cases, 960 probable cases and 77 related deaths.
Hancock, Ohio and Marshall counties all were green on the DHHR's Tuesday COVID-19 alert map, sitting in the map's safest category. Brooke County was yellow, the map's second-safest category. In Ohio, the Belmont County Health Department on Tuesday reported 6,359 COVID-19 cases and 118 related deaths.
