WHEELING -- A Colorado man is facing multiple charges following a road chase with law enforcement beginning in West Virginia and ending in Ohio.
Jonathan Perry, no age available, of Colorado Springs, Colorado was charged by officers with child endangerment, failure to comply, having an open container of alcohol in the car and not having an operator's license. He is also wanted on a felony warrant out of Colorado, according to Sgt. Scott Bayless of the St. Clairsville Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
The chase began at 9:50 a.m. Friday when a deputy with the Ohio County Sheriff's Department attempted to pull over Perry's vehicle for a suspected traffic violation on Interstate 470 west.
Perry's car continued into Ohio, and exited onto Ohio 7 south going toward Bellaire.
"It didn't last long," Bayless said. "He got to milepost 10 and it ended when he was boxed in by Bellaire and Shadyside (police officers).
"He was taken into custody with no further incidents. There were no injuries, and no damage occurred."
Four juveniles and one additional adult were passengers in the vehicle, according to Bayless. He said the parents of all the juveniles were contacted to come get them.
Law enforcement agencies involved included the Ohio County Sheriff's Department, and the Bellaire, Bridgeport and Shadyside police departments, and the Ohio Highway Patrol.
