MOUNDSVILLE — Part and parcel with Grand Vue Park, the Vue Bar and Grill offers a high-flying dining experience for tourists and locals alike.
The Vue Bar and Grill opened four years ago, taking the place of Mason-Dixon BBQ, which has since relocated to W.Va. 2. The Vue serves as Grand Vue Park’s local restaurant option, which managing partner Jason Miller said provides the restaurant’s unique draws — the vistas of the park and the nearby ropes courses and ziplines.
The Vue, he said, serves as both a destination for Moundsville residents and for guests at the park.
“We’re trying to get the locals and we’re trying to get the tourists, also,” Miller said. “People who are staying at the cabin, who don’t want to get off the hill and get groceries, they can come get a nice dinner.”
Miller said the Vue offers a wide array of meal options, from chicken tenders to fresh cut steaks and crab cakes. His favorite, he said, is the Thai oriental chicken salad, with homemade Thai sauce, grilled chicken, peanuts, and chow mein.
The Vue’s new chef, Craig Aubrey, formerly served as chef at Stratford Springs. Miller said Aubrey plans to expand the restaurant’s menu later this summer. Aubrey is responsible for the rotation of daily specials, including a recent meatloaf special and the featured Mountain View Brownie dessert.
Grand Vue Park’s amenities include ziplines, aerial ropes courses, miniature and disc golf, and many more, serving as one of Marshall County’s premier tourist attractions. An RV park is currently under construction immediately next to the Vue, which will hold 40 spots to be hooked up.
Weekly musical entertainment is brought in to perform on the restaurant’s stage. The next scheduled show, jam band Bucket of Puppies, will be performing on July 17.
“We do acoustic acts and bands on the outdoor stage,” Miller said. “… That’ll be a good band for that night. It’ll be a great night.”
