The Wellsville man arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Colliers man has been charged with first-degree murder.
Harley Gill, 27, of Wellsville, is being held without bond at the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville following extradition from Columbiana County and arraignment Tuesday in Brooke County Magistrate Court.
He is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing in magistrate court within 10 days.
Because it involves a felony, his case is expected to be bound over to the 1st Judicial Circuit Court, according to officials.
The Brooke County Sheriff's Department said Gill shot and killed 40-year-old Charles Jule "Jules" Suter at about 11:15 p.m. Friday at his home at 94 Shreves Lane in Colliers.
Brooke County Sheriff Rich Beatty said he couldn't comment on a motive when contacted Wednesday.
He confirmed there were others in the home at the time, noting they weren't harmed.
According to previous reports, Gill had fled the area following the shooting and was arrested in Columbiana County on Saturday morning.
