The Wetzel County Board of Education will see some new faces among its ranks, with three joining the board following Tuesday night's election results.
Rob Christen, Christine Nice and Jimmy Glasscock will take board seats as the top three vote-getters. Christen picked up 1,052 votes in the unofficial results, with Nice gathering 920 and Glasscock getting 840 votes.
Also in the race were Linda Duke, who picked up 786 votes, and Carolyn Yoho, who earned 775 votes.
In the race for New Martinsville Police Chief, Tim Martin cruised to a win to keep hold of the job he has held for the last 19 years. Martin, chief since 2003, gathered 724 votes to defeat Daniel Eastham, who picked up 143 votes.
In Tyler County, two incumbents, Larry Thomas and Dave Roberts, kept their seats on the Board of Education. They will be joined by newcomer Scott Strode. The trio ended up the top vote-getters in an eight person race.
Thomas earned 738 votes, with Strode getting 671 and Roberts earning 670. Incumbent Katrina Byers finished fourth with 621 votes. Jason Sutter earned 581 votes, with Camille Mace getting 566, Renee Glover getting 284 and Andy Shreves at 196.
Eric Vincent earned a spot on Tyler County Commission, earning 780 votes to David Wells' 449. In the race for county clerk, Neil Archer II defeated Dave Stoller 988 votes to 383.
