Norfolk & Southern is overseeing the cleanup after a train derailed north of Costonia around 7 a.m. Sunday. Jefferson County 911 Director Rob Herrington said the train was hauling residential garbage, and when the cars derailed some of the trash ended up in the Ohio River. R.J. Corman Railroad Specialists is handling the cleanup, deploying booms to catch what's on the surface of the river. Herrington said most of the wreckage is on land and will be cleaned up.
