Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28 has announced its Students of the Month for October and November.

The October winners are Mariana Alkhouri and Jonah Nizami, both seniors at Wheeling Park High School. For November, the winners are Sarah Wilson and Landin Blakely, both seniors at The Linsly School.

Alkhouri, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Nabiel and Nesrin Alkhouri of Wheeling, is captain of both the debate and science bowl teams. She is a two-time first-place winner of the Stifel Award and is president of the National Honor Society. She is also an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Nizami, the son of Denitra and Saleem Nizami of Wheeling, is captain of the cross country team. He is a member of the Key Club, the Chess Club, and the Drug Fee Club of America. He also volunteers as a basketball coach at the House of Carpenter.

Wilson, the daughter of Cassandra and Mark Wilson of Wheeling, is a Senior Prefect and chairs the Community Service Committee. She is also the senior community service member of the National Honor Society. She volunteers at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital and the St. Mary’s Food Bank. She has twice been nominated for the National Academy of Future Medical Leaders.

Blakely, the son of Heather and Ryan Blakely of Wheeling, is a Senior Prefect on the Academic Committee. He is captain of the football team, and is on the Leadership Committee of the National Honor Society. He is also the head and co-founder of Tri-State Landscaping.
