Rine Joins WVU Medicine Leadership Group

Jessica Rine, the former executive director of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, now has a new role with WVU Medicine.

Rine has joined WVU Medicine as the associate vice president of Foundations and Community Relations for Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She will work to strengthen ties with the community through outreach and involvement, while enhancing the Foundations at both hospitals.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Jessica to the team," Douglass Harrison, president and CEO of WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital, said. "I look forward to working with her as we strengthen our community ties and create more brand awareness around WVU Medicine."

"I'm thrilled to join the WVU Medicine team and continue to be an advocate for our local community," Rine said.

Born and raised in Wheeling, Rine already is a familiar face in the community. A graduate of Wheeling Park High School and West Liberty University, she has extensive experience in relationship building; sponsorships and appeals; brand marketing; maintaining strong city, county and state connections. As a promotions manager at WTRF, Rine also was involved in community relations opportunities and event coordination.

Currently a resident of Moundsville, she is active as a volunteer for many committees and special events in the Ohio Valley.

She is a former member of the WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital Board of Directors; Rotary of St. Clairsville; board member of Ohio Valley Gas & Oil Association; ex officio board member of the Regional Economic Development Partnership. Rine is a graduate of Leadership West Virginia, and was named a West Virginia Executive Young Gun for 2023.
