The Health Plan, as part of its service to the Ohio Valley community, has donated $10,000 to Wheeling Health Right to help the organization continue offering medical services to those in need.

"We're honored to support Wheeling Health Right in meeting the healthcare needs of the underserved in our community," said Jeff Knight, president and CEO of The Health Plan. "Our organizations share a common goal - bettering the health of those we serve. We want to make sure their team has what they need to continue their mission."

As part of The Health Plan's annual "Spirit of Giving" campaign, this donation will help Wheeling Health Right provide medical care, medication and education to those who would otherwise not have access.

A United Way agency, Wheeling Health Right operates as a truly comprehensive primary care clinic, serving the uninsured and under-insured in Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler counties in West Virginia, and Belmont County, Ohio. The organization recently expended its dental clinic and added a drive-up window for its pharmacy.

"We are so extremely grateful to The Health Plan and Jeff Knight for their generous donation and their support of our mission," said Kathie Brown, executive director of Wheeling Health Right. "Together, The Health Plan and Wheeling Health Right work to ensure quality health care, not only for the insured, but for the underinsured of our community. We're so thankful for their continued support of our many programs serving so many within our community."

The Health Plan donated more than $1 million to nonprofit organizations in 2022 alone.
