Worker Fatally Injured at Former Mill Site in Weirton

Representatives of the Frontier Group of Companies report an individual injured while working at its site in Weirton has died.

Officials from the Buffalo-based company explained an employee of Mid-Michigan Crushing and Recycling was at the Frontier Crossing development on Tuesday, when the individual was injured while performing work on the property which once was part of the operations of Weirton Steel Corp.

The individual was taken to Weirton Medical Center by first responders, but later died from his injuries, company officials said.

Authorities from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident.
